Another recent interior, furniture and lighting project for Merenda, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of specialist veneer products. We’ve used the company as a supplier since the mid nineties so it was lovely to be asked to design their foyer space. Company and specifically factory based company foyers very often get overlooked so this was a great opportunity to completely re-present the ethos of the firm as well as future proofing the requirements in such a space with all the latest technology.
Both Manorhub business center and Merenda brands needed to be demonstrated in the space, a new acoustically sealed media room for video calling as well as a comfortable waiting area. Since this is generally not a focused work space we turned to atmospheric lighting as the key component of the scheme to highlight all the important elements with recessed LED tracks behind signage and information panels, spots on key areas and one of our own products – the Lightweave Frustum pendant as the waiting area focal point. This area also uses a large wallpaper photo of our favourite local amenities – Milltown forest to dramatic effect creating a calming corner area to relax in whilst subtly engaging the visitor in the activities of the company.
