Another recent commission was from Children’s Books Ireland who are a Dublin based publisher. A new iniative involves creating a display of CBI’s book list including many new books by Irish writers and illustrators. They had an existing system which was essentially a large low box on wheels which functioned on a basic level however the units were very difficult to lift requiring 2 people and a van. CBI asked us to design a new unit which would be easy to transport by one person in a car, and set up with ease too. It should also be colourful and display the books well.

The ‘A’ frame design we came up with is light, colourful and flat packs inside a durable canvas bag which can be carried on the shoulder and set up with ease. We used Birch Plywood for the shelves within a colour lacquered frame and panel structure. The individual books on display can be alternated around the structure which has signage to advertise CBI’s promotional activity. Catch the new display’s at a library near you.
