The Irish Sustainable Build Fair was held from the 7-10 of October at the RDS and Solearth Architecture had the task this year of designing the showhouse – Homeplus. A showhouse is constructed each year to demo some of the sustainable products available at the show. The striking timber frame building was clad in Cedar shingles and featured solar panels on the roof, a rain water collection system and eco Hemp insulation products. We were asked to supply our Lightweave-Stack floor lights for use in each room to give warm and atmosphere. These fittings use a minimal amount of natural wood to great effect and contain 20w soft tone CFL’s for energy efficiency. Many thanks to Mike Haslam at Solearth for his assistance.
