Leo Scarff has been a creative designer for over 30 years, studying and working in Scandinavia before setting up his own studio in Dublin in 1997. Since then he has worked for numerous clients in the office, retail, hospitality and domestic fields across Ireland, the U.K., Europe, Canada, America and the Carribean. The studio's primary focus is on lighting and furniture design however our interests extend into sculptural structures of various kinds, very often for large spaces where a dramatic focal point is required. Leo has also lectured extensively on design since 1999 and is a passionate promoter of Irish Art, Design and Architecture.

What We Do

At the Leo Scarff Design studio we specialise in 3 general areas - custom lighting, furniture design and sculptural structures. The process by which we work starts with a brief from a client and information regarding the intended location of the item(s), materials, quantities, light sources required or functional needs. We can work around a budget or simply develop a proposal and quotation based on this. We produce initial sketches which very often include 3D Sketch Up visualisations, followed by technical drawings and subsequent manufacturing schedule and component drawings etc. We oversee manufacturing both in-house and at our specialist suppliers and assemble all the parts at our workshops before delivering to the site location. Care is taken at all stages and regular updates sent to the client throughout the schedule. We also collaborate with manufacturers to design collections of lighting or furniture for them.
