Client: Studio Research / 2006
The studio continually develops new structures for use in lighting, furniture and sculptural projects. This process involves sketches, models in paper and card, 3D visualisations and prototypes whether to a scale or full size. These structures are tests to decide which materials to use, the properties of a material or details such as fittings or joints. All part of our continued research into form and structure
One such structure we developed some years ago was the ‘Interlink’ for an arts commission proposal. This we visualised in Birch Plywood and Acrylic at various sizes to test the flexibility of each material.
