Early in 2014 we were approached by Garuda Design in Belfast to create an sculptural installation for a new hotel at the Heston Aerodrome in London. It was decided that with the aeronautical theme of the hotel and it’s surroundings that an installation comprising of multiple miniature aeroplanes would produce a dramatic focal point for the foyer area stretching up through the various floors. Each individual plane is made from laser cut white opal Acrylic and suspended via fine steel cables. The installation is illuminated by LED spotlights around the perimeter of the first floor balcony.
